I've seen this a lot recently, but didn't manage to find the time to come up with steps to reproduce. I'm very grateful for this report.
Notice that nesting a component within the slot is no longer possible to do (both via drag/drop in the preview *and* in the layers panel). It's almost like the slot has stopped behaving like a slot.
