Asset library order breaks styling

Problem/Motivation

I built my own subtheme of Material MDC. A Drupal 10.4 update changes the order of CSS asset loading which leads to a different CSS rule application. For me it appeared that the submenu of the main navigation was no longer visible. I worked around it by defining library weights and thereby reordering theme.css and mdc.css.
