/update.php/selection gives me a 404

Created on 5 March 2025, 29 days ago

Problem/Motivation

There are no instructions on how to update Drupal CMS or for that matter how to set up a second instance on the same machine.

With upgrading though, I get a 404 here:
https://drupal-cms-1.ddev.site/update.php/selection

I suspect that I might need to apply a change to nginx, like here:
https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/2606180 πŸ’¬ /update.php/selection Not found with nginx Fixed

But I don't want to have folks installing Drupal CMS having to pass configuration information onto nginx.

Not sure where I've gone wrong, but I've tried to do a very simple build on a Mac (Apple chip).

Steps to reproduce

Follow https://new.drupal.org/docs/drupal-cms/get-started/install-drupal-cms/in...

Side-note: When downloading this, why does it download a filename "cms" rather than "drupal_cms.zip" or even "drupal_cms_1.02.zip"? Why do I have to add the extension?

But apply first install with the 1.0 release, and then with the latest release.

Proposed resolution

Add nginx config

Rename the package that is downloaded
