A month pager showing all months in a year

Problem/Motivation

I find this as a small and intuitive module that works well. I would however like to have it extended with a slightly more advanced pager. I would like a pager either showing the current year and all months in the current year, or a number of the upcoming months (as well as the previous month in order to go back).

I have looked a little bit into this, but with my rather limited drupal coding skills, I was not able to sort out how to add it on my own.

OK, I think I managed to extend the module myself.
It works fine at my installation. It provides an alternative pager, listing all the months at a line at the top. With previous and next year in each end. Pointing to the same month the year before/after.

Hopefully this might be included in the module itself. Otherwise, it might be a basis for a small independent module enhancing the excellent calendar_view module.

Please advise if I should have approached this differently.
