PhotoSwipe is awesome indeed. I will not be able to allocate time for integrating a submodule like for Colorbox though. If you intend to insert images with a PhotoSwipe integration only, you could override the
insert-imagetemplate. However, that will of course not work if you need to do both inserting images wrapped in PhotoSwipe and inserting images not wrapped in PhotoSwipe.
