Search recipe installs all kinds of unrelated extensions

Problem/Motivation

I just want to add Acquia search to my site. But applying the acquia_starterkit_search recipe enables dozens of unrelated extensions.

I can see that there are entangling dependencies:
acquia_starterkits_search (->installs->) acquia_cms_search (->installs->) acquia_cms_common -> which installs 30 extensions and their dependencies. All of which appear unrelated to Search.
