Save and apply group menu as a template

Problem/Motivation

I've got a website on which there are a bunch of Groups.
All of these Groups need to have the same base menu including items like "Home" (/group/id), "Members" (/group/id/members), etc.
Would it be possible (programatically would be fine) to automatically apply a base menu template to all new Groups ?
