Problem/Motivation

Description for "File" field:

  • For uploading files
  • Can be configured with options such as allowed file extensions and maximum upload size

Description for "Image" field:

  • For uploading images
  • Allows a user to upload an image with configurable extensions, image dimensions, upload size
    Can be configured with options such as allowed file extensions, maximum upload size and image dimensions minimums/maximums

Description for "Svg Image" field:

This field stores the ID of an image file as an integer value.

Steps to reproduce

  • Install Drupal with "Standard" install profile.
  • Enable Svg Image Field module.
  • Click "File upload" to add an Svg Image field to the Article content type at URL /admin/structure/types/manage/article/fields/add-field
  • Compare types and description text
