In #2941917: Missing config schema → , a configuration schema file was added to this module. The problem is, that schema is for the Voting API Widgets module, NOT for the Voting API module.
They are different modules. The schema does not belong in Voting API.
I don't know why this was done, but it should never have been done. I see no evidence that anyone posted an issue in the Voting API Widgets module for this - that is where it should be fixed, not here. But because this module is required for Voting API Widgets, having this schema in Voting API hides the fact that the schema is missing in Voting API Widgets. So the above issue not only "fixed" the problem in the wrong place and in the wrong manner, but it also hid the problem and prevented it from being detected and fixed in Voting API Widgets.
This issue is to revert that change. I will open a separate issue in Voting API Widgets to add the correct schema over there once this is done.
