After creating a new release, the usage statistic section information went missing from the project page (x sites report using this module).
However, the page itself with the detailed statistics works just fine.

What could be the issue? Is there something missing from the source code or this could be a temporary issue?

For ✨ Hide usage info for general projects Active , I set only module & theme projects to show their usage statistics on the project page. I wasn't aware that some profiles or distributions had working usage statistics. We can add that back for distribution projects.
