Status messages hide behind the menu header on landing pages

Problem/Motivation

As an end user or contributor
I want status messages to be visible on landing pages
So that I can read them

Steps to reproduce

Proposed resolution

Ideally we should update landing pages so that no elements are ever hidden under the global header. A solution could be to separate Hero components from other content components but that could be a breaking change to existing landing pages. This could use some exploration but the minimum requirement is that status messages are visible.
