Cant get working with a search index view

I created a view that shows results from a search index provided by SOLR. I have an exposed "Fulltext search" input. When I check enable autocomplete on it, the dropdown to select which field should contain the autocomplete results is empty. In my logs I also see:

Field for autocomplete filter Fulltext search not exists in view related_products_beta, display page_1

As far as I know, I cant add "Fulltext search" to the list of fields. What is the correct process here? I have the field "Content datasource: Title (indexed field)" in my list, but that is not an option for me to choose.

I got it working with a normal view where I exposed the node title, but the node title was also present in the list of fields.

This seems to be a duplicate of this one 💬 Search api autocomplete not working Postponed: needs info . OP claims you cannot add a "fulltext search" field to the view which is where my problem is. I did not see a solution in there. I also found this thread 📌 Field for autocomplete filter not exists in view VIEW_NAME, display VIEW_DISPLAY_NAME Closed: cannot reproduce which someone suggests adding the "fulltext search" field to the view but that is just not possible when using fulltext search
