Authors can create content from a quick add block that is categorized the same as type tray

Created on 30 October 2024, 6 months ago

Problem/Motivation

We have a use case for an "Add content" block in addition to the add content page that Type Tray enhances, and we would like to make one that is based on the Type Tray categories— in our vision, each category would be a details element that expands to show the , and probably the Type Tray description behind a (?) icon tooltip. Or simply have a link to the Type Tray add content page at the bottom of the block for full links and information.

Proposed resolution

Would this be of interest as part of Type Tray or a submodule in the main project? Or should it be a separate contrib?

Interesting idea! You don’t happen to have any mockups of what you’re hoping to build?

Have you thought at all about perhaps doing something with the new navigation menu instead? We’ve thought a little about it but haven’t done anything yet.

If you end up implementing it as a block based on Type Tray's categories, I think a submodule like type_tray_block or something like that makes total sense! 👍

    Thanks!
