In certain scenarios, it is needed to create a SetupIntent, rather than a PaymentIntent.
This usually requires additional site-specific code to implement, but there is refactoring that can be done to make the amount of custom work minimal, and avoid having to patch js files, override multiple methods, etc... that you currently need to do to make this happen.
This initial implementation is purely under the hood, and the PaymentIntent should work as it normally does.
