Upgrading from version 2 to 3

Problem/Motivation

I wanted to install the module, but then I saw on the project page that version is coming. This raises some questions to me:

1. When is version 3 coming out?

2. Will it be straight forward for users using version 2 to upgrade to v3? I mean there will be no breaking changes.
