There could be use cases that we need to know whether an entity has been updated by a view form field that is offered by this module, or by any other way.
The existing entity API cannot cover this case, since it cannot differentiate the origin of the save function.

I propose the introduction of 2 hooks, that will run just before and just after saving the entity through this entity.
