With Splide, Opacity is 0 until forced reflow

Problem/Motivation

This might be a problem with the Splide carousel → module. I am trying to add a colorbox that triggers inside of a Splide carousel. It seems to mostly work, however, in the initial colorbox, I get a zero value for the opacity that's set in the inline style on the #colorbox element. If I force a re-flow of the page by resizing the window, the opacity then gets set to 1, and I am able to see my colorbox element.

I'm not sure what the fix for this. Any suggestions?
