The image file is invalid or the image type is not allowed

Problem/Motivation

After updating to drupal 10.3 there seems to be a problem using the svg_image module.
I set the allowed types of an image field to: png,svg

Now I get the error:
The image file is invalid or the image type is not allowed. Allowed types: png, jpeg, jpg, jpe, gif, webp
When I try to upload an svg. When I try to upload a png there is no problem.
