I installed the module via composer. I also have the SMTP module installed, and it is sending other emails as expected. However, I am not receiving any emails from this module. I attempted to re-send the welcome email to the user account with my email address, the website says "Resend registration / welcome email was applied to 1 item.", and I never receive any email (I checked Spam etc). There are no failure messages displayed on-screen or in the logs.

I guess you would need to debug this via XDebug or something...
Alternatively, you could switch to using the
Drupal Symfony Mailer Plus →
module with an SMTP transport configured, and install
Drupal Symfony Mailer Log →
module. This will create a log entry for each outgoing email, making it easier to debug if the mail is going out or not.
