Views full-text search not working

Problem/Motivation

Text search by the indexed field with type "fulltext" does not work - the results are empty.

Steps to reproduce

1. add new content field to node
2. add field to index with type "fulltext"
3. expose this field in views
4. try to find results by full or partial text match without any filters
