Your project page clearly states that you must use the field formatter to have this work (thank you for making that clear up-front!). Using field formatters isn't an option in my case though. So I naturally wondered if I could leverage the features of this module programmatically myself. I explored the source code and the services.yml file and nothing jumped out. Am I missing something or is this not possible? Thank you in advance for any clarity you can offer!
Nominally relevant information, but thought it might help:
The site uses custom blocks placed on node pages to render "paragraph" type content, without using the Paragraphs module.
The related nodes are built with ECK and authored using IEF widgets. The data model only has an entity ID (no revision ID).
Document how/if this module could be used programmatically to display related nodes when they are rendered in non-traditional ways.
Update documentation or expose something in a new service possibly?
