Support for drupal 7 modules cannot be enabled again. We will have to move this module to d7security to continue support there.

Thx, that would be greatly appreciated by me and the 71,259 Websites that use this version of the module at this time!
In what timeframe do you think this could be done?

    Released at https://gitlab.com/d7security/views_slideshow/-/releases/7.x-3.11

Follow the user guide to get updates from d7security: https://www.d7security.org/docs/general-information/user-guide

@maintainers: can you add the following to the project page?

Drupal 7 version

The Drupal 7 version of the Views Slideshow module is not supported on drupal.org anymore. The D7Security group has taken over maintainership on Gitlab. Follow the D7Security user guide to continue receiving security update notifications for the Views Slideshow module.

Thanks a lot for the swift move of the module to d7security - it works like a charm - what a relief!

FYI: it seems the instructions on https://www.d7security.org/docs/general-information/user-guide should be updated to the 7.x-1.2 version of the d7security_client module.

Thanks for the hint, updated the version number in the user guide!

Happy to hear that it works for you :)

I am not sure why the 7.x-3.x branch became unsupported and unfortunately, I have not received any notice/email about this to give me the opportunity to do something (I have to say that I worked on initiating a D8 version of the module and never touched it since that time).

I have updated the project description with the new process for D7.

    Nice, thanks a lot!

I'll assign issue credits for the 3 of us for reporting and resolving this, I hope that is ok!

  • 🇦🇹Austria klausi 🇦🇹 Vienna

Ah, looks like issue credits can only be assigned by maintainers here. I probably see the checkboxes because I'm a project admin, but can't set them.

Anyway, if you want you can set issue credits for appreciating the work :)

@vbouchet Thx for the update - I had been wondering how this came about, since the 7.x-version never had any security issue - mysterious still - care to investigate (a little)?

  • Automatically closed - issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
