Passing Links to Calendar Description

Problem/Motivation

So I was wondering if someone could help me out with an issue. I have the need to add a link in the description of an event and have that link also be pasted into the body of the calendar invite that is created.

I took a look at the code of the module, the settings schema, and did notice that the description is being set to type:string. I tried to set it to other types in hope that it wouldn't parse any anchor tags in my description but nothing seemed to work. Anyone else run into this issue or have some way of resolving this?
