Unclear warning and missing information in README
Export a node with (I assume?) references to custom entities.
You will see something like:
Warning message Base fields of "[entity type]" is not exportable out-of-the-box. Check README for a workaround.
The warning suggests a 'workaround' to be found in the README.
I now have read the README multiple times, but cannot find a 'workaround'. I think it is meant you have to write your plugin as outlined https://www.drupal.org/docs/contributed-modules/single-content-sync/expo... → ?
The resolution would be to use the same term in README as used in the warning, so in this case 'workaround' (but probably a better term should be found).

You're right, the warning message is outdated; it references the very old hooks logic before we had plugins.
Feel free to submit the MR with a fix/README update.
