Guest user profile is attached to the authenticated user

Problem/Motivation

Guest user info was set as default for the auth user and that info auto-populates on the checkout fields.

Steps to reproduce

I cannot reproduce this bug but the Guest user profile is attached to the auth user and set as the default profile. (please see the screenshots).
You can see that guest with the email Carm..@aol.com is getting attached to the auth user ped...@pub.com
I'd like to understand what is causing this issue and how it can be recovered.
