Selecting a Summary Field results in (smart) trim options not applied

Problem/Motivation

Once I select a Summary Fields the trim is not applied and the trimming is also not applied. My intention to use this module was, because smart trim alone applied to a paragraph field does not seem to know the node I which it would need to create the More link.
