The current editor used for making comments on Drupal issues isn't the best since it relies on the user working with raw HTML, which can be a bit annoying when working with things like lists, or formatted code snippets, as you can easily miss out certain closing tags.
It'd be nice if users had the option to switch between the source code version and a WYSIWYG editor to make it easier to create comments and issues.
This might be superceded by 📌 Migrate drupal.org issues to gitlab issues Needs review if we decide to switch to Gitlab issues, since the UX there is a bit better.
Provide text format for formatted text users may switch to.
The CKEditor format should provide the ability to switch between source code and a WYSIWYG editor.

This is indeed superseded by 📌 Migrate drupal.org issues to gitlab issues Needs review . The decision to migrate has been made, it is a matter of having capacity to get that closer to the top of the to-do list.
