- That's only relevant when serving the entire site from a CDN, the CDN module literally says on the project page:
This module provides easy Content Delivery Network integration for Drupal sites. It changes file URLs, so that files (CSS, JS, images, fonts, videos β¦) are downloaded from a CDN instead of your web server.
It does not put your entire website behind a CDN.

IOW: if you put your entire site behind a CDN β¦. you don't need this module π
