Mega Menu ignores menu item permissions from menu_per_role module

Problem/Motivation

It appears that TB Mega Menu is ignoring menu item permissions set by the "Menu Per Role" (menu_per_role) module. Menu items that are restricted and not displayed in the normal menu are displayed in the mega menu.

Steps to reproduce

Install both TB Mega Menu and Menu Per Role modules
Update a menu item's access permissions
Log in as a user who shouldn't see that menu item
That menu item *is* displayed in the mega menu
