Drop Drupal 9 support

Problem/Motivation

Although the 2.x version already supports Drupal 11; it is still compatible with Drupal 9 (even if that Drupal version has already become EOL). To prevent disruptions, we cannot, e.g., use any new features introduced after PHP 7.4. The downside of this backward compatibility is that it can hinder future updates/maintainability.

Proposed resolution

Create a 3.x version of this module that supports Drupal 10 and 11, which allows us to remove deprecated functionality and allows us to make use of new functionality (e.g., all features that are available in PHP 8.1).
