the patch file adds the footer variable 'x' to the list of footer variables in the page.preprocess.inc file.
After this update the warning goes away.

If there are no social media links in the theme settings, then the following warning is on every page load.
Warning: Undefined array key "x" in uswds_preprocess_page() (line 100 of drupal/themes/contrib/uswds/preprocess/layout/page.preprocess.inc)
In theme settings have all social media link blank.
