Missing the "Powered by Google Translate" attribution

Created on 5 June 2024, 6 months ago

Problem/Motivation

After installing and setting up this translation block there does not appear to be an option or way to display the "Powered by Google Translate" text with the block. i understand GTranslate and Google Translate are not the same exact thing, but under the hood isn't GTranslate still relying the Cloud Translation API?

According to Google Documentation:

The following basic principles govern use of the Google name and logo in conjunction with the Cloud Translation API:

Google attribution is required.

  1. The Google name and logo should be associated with Google Translate only.
  2. The Google logo may never appear next to or on the same page with the logos of competing web or other search services. There are no exceptions to this rule.
  3. The "powered by Google Translate" graphic must always be displayed adjacent any translation results.
  4. You shall display all intellectual property rights legends and notices (e.g., copyright notices) as instructed by Google.

Note item 3 above. This leads me to believe anyone who sets up this block for their site is in violation of the terms of use. Is this truly the case or am I overlooking something?

Steps to reproduce

Install the module as normal.
Add the translate block to your site via block layout
Note that thee is no attribution / credit to Google.
