Media entities inherit access settings from parent origin entity

Problem/Motivation

I am working with a site that uses media entities to house documents. I currently have an access policy configured for the content nodes themselves, but not for the media entities that will be referenced from the content nodes fields. I would for the media entity to only be available in the media library if the node where it was first published is a public node (Everyone can view it).

I realize this description leaves some unanswered questions, but I really just wanted to check to see if anyone over here in access policy is doing anything similar, where maybe this can be configured in the module, or maybe there is another module that could add some helpful functionality for this purpose alongside access policy.

We're doing something like this on our project. However it is out of the scope of Access Policy so it's not something that will be supported here. With that said, Access Policy is a field so you could try this module https://www.drupal.org/project/field_inheritance → .
