We do not want subscribers to be locked in to using our starter hosting, or other providers to be locked out.
Provide officially supported migration paths for subscribers to move their sites to other hosts. One possibility is to use the list of Drupal hosting providers → from drupal.org.
For sites launched from the Drupal CMS launch button on the drupal.org home page, instead of offering permanent site subscriptions we could offer trial extensions, so users would be encouraged to move their sites to a supporting partner.
