Custom menu path' can't use term name instead of term tid as the first argument

I've encountered an issue that is well described here link → , but the requests mentioned there have not been addressed in the new versions of the Taxonomy Menu module. Maybe it makes sense to implement these improvements in this module?

Problem/Motivation

I thought this would be pretty simple to set up, but being a newbie, I'm having a lot of difficulty with using the Custom Path feature with sub-terms.

What I need: http://www.mysite.com/departments/human-resources
What I'm getting: http://www.mysite.com/departments/321
