Having a holder that points to a page with views exposed filters the form action URL points to the regular held entity path instead of the holder one. That makes a sort of redirection to the entity path when submitting the form.
Use path processors to manage path mapping between the entity holder path and its linked content entity canonical path. Outbound path processor will transform held entity URL path into the holder one.
