System's language switcher block uses "fa" class for Farsi and FontAwesome transforms it into an SVG

Problem/Motivation

The system's language switcher block uses language codes as class of links, so for Farsi a class="fa" is added. FontAwesome transforms the link into an empty SVG using JS. With this, users are unable to switch language to Farsi.

Steps to reproduce

Add Farsi as second language.
Add language switcher block.
Use SVG with JS as method in FontAwesome settings.
(Possibly create content and translate into Farsi)
