How to reproduce :
Configure 2 languages.
Activate all translation (config, content, interface).
Make taxonomies translatable.
Add a taxonomy term and translate it into the other language. Let's say English is original and "lang2" is translation.
In languages Detection and selection activate Account Administration Pages
Go to your admin user account and set Administration Pages Language to English.
Then go edit the lang2 translation.
Problem : despite having /lang2/taxonomy/term/2/edit in the URL, editing the lang2 translation will instead overwrite the English translation.
the original English translation is lost.

Thanks for reporting this. If we can confirm this bug, it sounds critical. It might be a good idea to search and see if there is an existing issue filed for this problem, also.
The merge request needs to be created against 11.x (our main development branch); it will be backported to supported versions once committed to 11.x.
