Confusing behavior with "Overwrite original file"

Unchecking "Overwrite original file" permanently removes this module's functionality from the media item, and empties the original file field. It seems unlikely this is the intended behavior.

If you uncheck "Overwrite original file" and save the media item, the "Replace file" widget no longer displays below the item, and the original file field gets emptied. If the user then edits the media item again, they will wonder why the file field is now empty and the UI has changed.

The expected behavior: The user should be able to uncheck "Overwrite original file" when they want to replace the file with one that has a new name. Doing so should not permanently disable this module for that media item, as there may be cases when, subsequent to changing a file name to name #2, a user might want to upload a different version of that file and keep name #2.
