Preserve HTML tags from Description

Hello,

First of all, thank you for this module. It works great and integrates perfectly with Smart Date and recurring events.

I have a question though: when setting my date field in the view display settings, I'm using the Smart Date Formatter, enabling Add to Calendar Links in the "Enabled Date Augmenters" options, and using [node:body] for the Add to Calendar Links' Event Description. On the Event page, when I click the button to "Add to Calendar", the content from the field Body is added to the event description in the selected calendar provider. However, all HTML tags are removed, resulting in a plain text description in the calendar event. My main need here is to preserve at least the links from the rendered Body field. Please find attached screenshots from Gmail and Outlook.

I couldn't find any configuration for this. I am also not trimming the content, keeping the field Maximum description length empty. Is there a way to preserve HTML tags in the event description in the calendar provider?

Thanks for asking about this. You're correct that there's currently no option to preserve HTML. Probably what is needed here is to additionally provide the X-ALT-DESC element in the export, in addition to rendering a plaintext version, as described in https://dev.to/worldlinetech/creating-an-icalendar-event-with-html-conte...

How to handle this for the Google Calendar link, however, might differ...

@mark_fullmer Thank you for your response. I wasn't sure if I was missing something or it was indeed a feature not implemented.

I'm changing the issue category to "Feature request", so we can look into implementing it, if possible.
