We have a setup where checkout is used as part of an event registration process. Some event tickets are free, but still require going through the cart. In these cases, we skip payment. When arriving on the order summary step, where we are displaying payment summary, this causes a whitescreen.
Create a $0 product, configure your store/order type to not require payment methods on free orders. Configure the payment summary pane to appear before finalizing the order. Purchase the item, go to the summary page. You should see a white screen.
I have not attempted to reproduced from a fresh installation.

This was actually caused by a patch on issue #2871483, so I have fixed that patch instead.
