Not working on one level paths

I updated to version 2.0.5, using Drupal 10.2.3 and Zurb foundation theme 9.0.0-beta1. breadcrumbs only work for two or more levels after the root. {root}/about/staff or {root}/about/staff/me works fine, with breadcumbs working as links. However, {root}/staff does not work, breadcrumbs appear as plain text.

    The current page is not a link, and that's ok, but the root is also not a link. It show up as Home (plain text) / Staff (plain text). What we would like is for Home (to be a link) / Staff (plain text). On the pages that work, it shows Home (link) / About (link) / Staff (plain text).
