We have been utilizing the Facets Select2 Multi Checkboxes Widget module across multiple projects and have found it to be an essential component of our workflows. However, we have noticed a lack of activity on the module since 2021, which raises concerns about its long-term maintenance and compatibility with future Drupal releases.
As active users of this module, we are committed to ensuring its continued functionality and improvement. In light of this, we are currently working on a patch to address any outstanding issues and enhance its features.
Given the importance of this module to our projects, we kindly request that the maintenance of the Facets Select2 Multi Checkboxes Widget module be resumed. This includes regular updates, bug fixes, and compatibility checks with newer versions of Drupal.

I've ultimately opted to replace the 'Facets Select2 Multi Checkboxes Widget' module with the Chosen module. While their appearance isn't exactly the same, however, they both provide the same functionality for facets. Chosen is actively maintained and kept up-to-date.
