Review list of obsolete modules to determine if status is unchanged

Problem/Motivation

In our D9 curated.json file we have a number of modules which were vetted and determined obsolete. These are output to a text file - here.

Go through each of the modules which has been removed in recommendations-10 - list can be seen here - and determine if the note / status of that module is unchanged.

Steps to reproduce

n/a

Proposed resolution

  1. Review the related snippet from curated.json in recommendations branch for each module which was removed in recommendations-10 from vetted-source-drupal7-obsolete-modules.txt
  2. if note still applies, add same snippet to recommendations-10 curated.json
  3. if note is outdated, create separate issue to track status + changes which can be addresses separately

    Looking at the first 3:

    1. accessibility
    2. accessible_content
    3. ace_editor

It doesn't appear any changes happened to items #1 β†’ or #2 β†’ . Updated the note to mention D9+ to cover future iterations of Drupal as well as D10.

    The note in ace_editor states:

This module must be installed manually β€” see https://www.drupal.org/project/ace_editor β†’ and https://www.drupal.org/project/ace_editor/issues/3022330 πŸ› composer installation fail Fixed for instructions.

However the linked issue appears Closed/Fixed at this point and there is a D10 compatible beta release on the project page β†’ . So it is probably worth revisiting this one to determine if the note is still applicable. Are there steps during installation which have to be done manually?

    1. πŸ‘
    2. πŸ‘
    3. πŸ‘ β€” wonderful, thanks for the research in πŸ“Œ D10: Update recommendation for ACE Editor (drupal/ace_editor) Fixed !

It sounds like you intend to tackle additional "D7 module is obsolete in D9/10" recommendations in this issue β€” do you intend to tackle all, or batches of, say, 10 or 20?

I'd like to do it in batches, but not sure how that best works into the issue queue + merge requests. Doing it all in this issue seems like it could get a bit confusing.

Perhaps i should create issues listing out which obsolete modules to re-vet, specifically, then link to them from this issue.
