How to utilize the openai_embeddings for users to search?

In the setting form page /admin/config/openai/openai-embeddings/settings, it says:

Select which bundles of these entity types to generate embeddings from, or alternatively use the Search API AI module

If I don't install the search_api_ai module, how to utilize the openai_embeddings for users to search? I guess firstly installing search_api_db plugin, and then exposing them via Views. Am I right?
It seems that openai_embeddings module both save embeddings in vector store backends and the Drupal database table. Why to design such a redundancy?

You mimic what the SearchForm Form class does to do a search after you have had cron process the queue and index your items into eg Pinecone or Milvus.

If you want to use the Search API I would suggest using Search API AI module ( https://www.drupal.org/project/search_api_ai → ) which you probably need 🐛 Support Pinecone starter/Free, Fix compatibility with Open AI module Needs review for.
