IMCE with default image button vs without

Created on 20 January 2024, 10 months ago

Problem/Motivation

This module should be used instead of the default CKEditor 5 image upload button, but does not have the features. If I disable the image upload button I lose the alignment, resize, caption, etc.

Steps to reproduce

Enable IMCE and setup correctly and enabling image upload button correctly.
Use IMCE to upload an image and play with alignment. Save content.
Disable image upload button for the text format of the content type.
Edit content with inline image.

There is no functionality on the image.

This is Drupal 10.2 and CKEdtior 5.

To work around this I must enable the default image button and the 2 IMCE buttons and any content editors should know they can use the "Quick Upload" or the IMCE buttons. Not great UX.

If there is another work around please let me know.

Proposed resolution

If IMCE is enabled then the default image upload button functionality should also be enabled

Hello, I am having the same issue.
I have tested it on Drupal 9.5.11 with CKEditor 5, and also on Drupal 10.3.5 with CKEditor 5. In both cases, with module version 3.0 and 3.1, the same thing happens. I have verified that this does not happen on Drupal 9.5.11 with CKEditor 4. I haven't found any configuration that needs to be adjusted or any information regarding this issue.
