User story

Given I am a content author

When I am editing a page

Then I want to be able to embed a document in the content

AC

Given I am a content author editing in the WYSIWYG within a ‘content component’

When I embed a document via the Media embed button and save the page

Then the front end displays the document as an “Attachment” component

And it displays the document name

And the document type icon

And the document type name

And the date last updated

Solution direction

  1. Update embed document media type view to utilise the attachment component
  2. Preprocess fields to output the component as above

This functionality would require to allow the Editor user to control if they want the link to be displayed as a link or as an Attachment component.
Even if we implement this somehow, the apperance of the Attachment component within the content of the page is not what the component was designed to do.

The desired outcome can currently be achieved by creating 2 Content components and placing the Attachment component between them.
