This works fine in my test environment with a single language. Do you have two languages installed by chance? If so, there will be a settings record for each language - you can add a filter on "Current interface language" to eliminate the duplicates.

Yes, I have two languages and adding filter (Registration settings: Translation language (= XXX) in my case) cured that. Thanks for the advice!
