Problem/Motivation

Extend the Media library widget with the Kontainer select functionality. Both the existing Kontainer select functionality and the behavior of the media library widget should stay the same, meaning that when a Kontainer file is selected and imported as a Drupal media entity, it should be visible and selected by default in the widget.

Proposed resolution

• Create a custom widget, which extends the media library and implement the already existing import from Kontainer into it
• Usage API already supports this, since in the end, it is a normal media reference on an entity
