With Drupal core 9.5.x reaching end of life in November 2023 → , and 10.0.x becoming unsupported → , the maintainers of Linkit will make a plan to discontinuing support of the 6.0.x branch.
The 6.0.x branch is currently maintained as the sole branch that is compatible with Drupal 9.5.x and Drupal 10.0.x. An API change in CKEditor 5 required both Drupal core and Linkit to provide new releases that are not compatible with previous versions of CKEditor. The 6.1.x branch is compatible with Drupal 10.1.x and higher. Sites still using Drupal core 9.5.x or 10.0.x should update to 10.1.x or higher.
1. No longer list the 6.0.x branch as "recommended" but leave it "supported" until November 2024.
2. Publicize to users of Linkit that the 6.0.x branch will become unsupported in the future, November 2024, a full year after Drupal 9.5.x and 10.0.x were marked unsupported.
